You don’t have to live in a single family home to take advantage our to-your-door pick-up. Since 2002, we’ve been recycling kitchen and yard waste from multi-residential apartments, condos, stratas and co-ops. And composting your food scraps or yard waste could not be easier.

We provide our green 120L, 240L or 360L Schaefer™ wheeled totes, which we exchange with freshly-cleaned totes every pickup.  Pickup can be on any frequency that you choose: daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.  Some clients just choose to notify us when they need a pickup.  We can to be very flexible.

Multi-Unit Buildings can purchase 'Kitchen Catchers' from us at minimal cost.  These 'in-suite' containers can be used with Biobag™ compostable bags, or without.  We can sell you Biobags™ at wholesale prices for resale to residents, or direct your residents to retail stores in Victoria carrying the four sizes of Biobags™, including Lifestyle Markets on Douglas and all Thrifty Foods.

18-unit Townhouse Community – A Case Study

We provide one of our 240L wheeled totes to an 18-unit townhouse community, where all residents received a kitchen catcher, and starter roll of 25 Biobag Compostable Bags.  Every second Tuesday, we arrive to exchange the full tote with a freshly-cleaned one.  For the pickups, we charge $40 per month.  When buying 10 or more kitchen catchers for each resident, the cost was only $12.50/each, and a roll of 25 bags just $5.  In multi-family communities that require more than one tote at a time, volume discounts apply to additional bins.  (ie. 2 x 240L picked up every other week costs just $55/month, including pickups and tote rentals).

This progressive program allows this progressive community to divert approximately 180 kgs. each month.  Each year, that's the equivalent of a 4-door sedan that is be beneficially recycled locally, not buried at the CRD Hartland landfill.  What’s more, The CRD will be significantly increasing the cost of dumping garbage containing food waste in Hartland Landfill in 2013.
